When I was 24, I flew to Derby, in the north of WA, for a court case, and had enough time to do what visitors there do.
The mud flats…
… the jetty…
… the boab tree…
… and the longest cattle trough.
I’m wearing a t-shirt that my Argentine friend Paula sent me, almost ten years before my first trip to her country.
Derby gives you an idea of the size of WA. It’s almost 2,400 kilometres from Perth, but with only backtracking a small way, another 900 or so kilometres on the main highway to the Northern Territory border. That’s where on a different trip up north, Wonder Woman made a surprise but tasteful appearance.
